Lenten Lecture Series

This Lent, Trinity Episcopal Church invites you to journey through a profound and thought-provoking exploration of one of humanity’s oldest and most challenging questions: Why does evil exist in a world created by a loving God? This six-part Lenten Lecture Series, titled “The Problem of Evil,” will take place each Wednesday evening, beginning on Ash Wednesday at 5:00 PM and continuing through April 9th.

The series will focus on theodicy, a theological term that seeks to address the coexistence of God’s goodness and the presence of evil in the world. Rooted in the Lenten tradition of reflection and spiritual growth, this series is designed to deepen our understanding of faith in the face of suffering and injustice.

Each week, we will gather for a light meal, fostering community and connection, followed by a lecture from a guest speaker. Our speakers will represent diverse traditions and perspectives, offering insights into how their faith or philosophical framework approaches the problem of evil. Together, we will wrestle with difficult questions and seek hope amidst life’s struggles.
